After each class, teachers can add a class summary. This is a brief summary of the topics covered during the session.

Class summaries are valuable because:

  • Students can review them after class to reinforce learning.

  • Teachers can quickly revisit what was taught in previous sessions.

  • Admins can track the progress of classes and courses and review teacher activity.

How to Add or Edit a Class Summary

End of Class

  • Right after finishing a class, teachers can enter a summary using the end-of-class pop-up screen.

In the New Scheduling UI

  • On the same day: Once the scheduled class time finishes (even if the teacher ends the class earlier, it will not appear until the scheduled end time), the class will remain visible in the Upcoming Classes list for the rest of that day. From there, teachers can:

    • Add or edit the class summary

    • Also, assign or update homework

  • From the next day onward: The class will move to Insights, where teachers can continue editing the summary at any time, even long after the class has ended.

Important: Past classes will be transferred daily to Insights at 4 am GMT/UTC.

For instance, a class conducted on Monday will be listed in the Past Classes list in Insights beginning Tuesday at 4:00 am GMT/UTC.

You can verify your timezone by clicking on this link.

Important Note: Old UI (Soon to Be Discontinued)

  • Teachers can still add a summary in the old Past Classes UI, and it will appear in Insights the following day (after the data refresh).

  • However, if a summary is updated in the old UI after the day of the class, those changes will not appear in Insights.

For the most reliable experience, teachers should use the new Scheduling UI.
Admins should encourage their teachers to switch to the new UI to prevent the loss of important class information.
