Virtual classroom: Teacher vs Student views

A teacher will view the virtual classroom differently to the student.

The key differences are that only teachers can:

  • Control whether student cameras and microphones are enabled.

  • Access teacher tools and change the viewing mode. For example, from Conversation mode to Whiteboard only mode

  • Control which whiteboard tab is open, and lock the whiteboard to disable students from writing or drawing.

This compares with the student view of the virtual classroom:

  1. Student does not have teacher tools

  2. Student can only turn on/off their mic and webcam

  3. But the student can see the teacher and interact on the whiteboard with the teacher
